Before Papers Come Paragraphs
Live Online Course

Registration is closed for the 21-22 school year.

Before Papers Come Paragraphs has been taught several times in the classroom but never as a live, online class.  In the fall of 2021, I am offering a beta-test version.  If you are interested in a live class, please read the details below; then fill out the registration form on the "tuition and registration" page.  Registering is only an expression of interest at this time.

Disclaimer:  Before you decide to enroll, it is important to be aware of the disadvantages of a beta-test version of this (or any) course.  Although I have taught it several times to large groups in the classroom, I may struggle at times to adapt it smoothly to an online environment.  This struggle may affect both the quality of my teaching and your student's grasp of the material; however, it is the nature of beta-testing and thus requires extra patience and understanding on your part.  In return for any inconvenience you or your student may experience, I am offering the class at a low price.

Level:  Beginner (grades 6-9)
**Please note that this course is designed for middle-school students.  High school students above grade 9 may enroll if they would like to, but they are encouraged to choose the correspondence course a la carte option instead.  This is because they have little time in their remaining high school years to gain the skills they need for upper-level high school and college writing assignments.  Targeting weaknesses through the a la carte option may be the better plan for them.

Term:  32 weeks (two 16-week semesters) / orientation class -- Wednesday, Sept. 1 / course start date -- Wednesday, September 8 / holiday dates TBD

Days/times:  1x/week; 50 minutes/class; Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. Eastern time

Tuition:  See "tuition and registration" page for tuition and fees.

Requirements:  Each student must have a Google account and be able to access the following apps--Gmail, Hangout, Classroom, Meet, and Drive.  Students must have access to their own account and be able to check email at least once each day.  Please note that the term will begin with an orientation class in which I will teach students how to use the necessary apps.
